HOUSES AND HOTELS

Assuming that they won't want to make the journey home late at night, crawlers coming from outside London can find accommodation to be tricky issue. The ideal hotel should not only be within staggering distance of the final pub, but should also be convenient for dropping of bags (and possibly parking) before the whole event gets underway.

Greg "Tug" Withnail, Kenny "Dirty Dawg" Cramer and Sarah "Jalopy" McDonald all used the Wardonia Hotel, Argyle Street. This was fairly easy to check in to on the way from Euston/Kings Cross, but not as close to their final (Oxford Street) pub as the Covent Garden Travelodge where Kate the Top Hat and James the Iron stayed.

Ignore the photos the Wardonia use online. This view shows the very nice looking hotel much more accurately.

Ask for Room 209 amd this is the view you'll wake to.

The staff were pleasant, but we got the distinct impression that if they could possibly pass a job on to the following shift, they would. Leaving baggage first thing in the morning was an absolute breeze.
Gareth "Bootilicious" Rees went home to his house in Pinner.
